History

Since the beginning of time, man has used the power of plants and herbs to heal, but it was only in the early 20th century that the English doctor, Edward Bach (1886 – 1936), discovered the connection between physical well-being and mental and emotional health.

He understood that illness is the result of an imbalance between the heart and the mind, and that traditional treatments only are insufficient to heal the patient. Over and above physical ways, the whole person should be treated: body, heart and mind.

Dr. Bach dedicated his life to searching for these kinds of remedies and this is how he discovered the influence of certain flowers on emotions and moods.

At his death in 1936, he had listed 38 flowers which he divided into seven groups, based on seven main emotions.
